Malaysia will be celebrating its 61st National Day next week, so it is appropriately the good time to have a look at this year’s logo which also carries the slogan “Sayangi Malaysiaku“. Picked among 632 entries in a logo design contest organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, the winning logo was finally unveiled in July. The logo features three silhouettes lifting their hands and a shape of a heart, while rather amateurish, it does “speak” the slogan.

Perhaps the new government wants involvement by the people, and the fact that the logo created through a contest which opened to all Malaysians, makes it a symbol of new Malaysia.
